Open Position: Full-Time Optician (Half Moon Bay, CA)

We are hiring a full-time warm and friendly Optician at HMB Optometry Family Eye Care in Half Moon Bay, CA. The Optician will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, frame styling, dispensing, verifying lenses before dispensing to patients, processing claims, frame inventory, repairs, adjustments, troubleshooting, and managing lab relationships. The Optician will need to collaborate with our 2 Optometrists and other front office staff to ensure the best options are provided for the patient. We pride ourselves on providing a warm customer experience to our range of patients on the coast. We are looking for someone interested in contributing to the relationship we have created with our patients who is passionate about contributing and growing the practice.

Additional duties may be required.

Rate of pay determined by experience: $24-28 per hour.

​Qualifications:

• Warm and welcoming personality
• Ability to stay calm and collected with patients and staff in a fast-paced environment
• Required minimum of 2 years experience as an Optician
• Must be able to work Saturdays and Tuesday evenings
• Experience in private practice or boutique optical store, preferred
• Must be able to demonstrate sales experience
• Knowledge of progressives, office progressive, preferably Zeiss and Shamir lenses
• Sales experience with high-end, independent brands, preferred
• Strong customer service skills and a passion for customer satisfaction
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well with a team
• Must be a strong self-starter who takes initiative 
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are a must
• Certification or ABO license as an Optician is preferred, not required
