Open Position: Part-Time Optometrist (Oakland, CA)

Iris Optometric Center is a modern, fun private Optometry practice located on the vibrant Piedmont Avenue in Oakland, and we’re looking for someone to join our growing team! This is a part-time, on-site role for an Optometrist located in Oakland, CA. We offer flexible hours and days in office, with a minimum of 2-3 days a week, 5-7 hours a day (negotiable). We’re open to negotiating days and hours for the right candidate. Starting offer at 600 per day. Medical and other employment benefits available. There is potential for partnership and even the possibility of purchasing the practice, for the right candidate with a strong business acumen. We are a small, dedicated team that values a personalized approach over corporate settings. Our priority is creating a unique, relaxed experience for our clients as they complete eye exams and choose their eyewear. 


Responsibilities: 

• Perform eye exams using advanced optometric equipment and provide thorough diagnostic interpretation. 
  
• Prescribe, fit, and adjust eyeglasses and contact lenses.
  
• Offer tailored patient follow-up and care recommendations.
  
• Provide expert advice on vision and optical issues.
  
• Deliver outstanding customer service, ensuring a memorable and personalized experience for every client.
  
• Managing patient records and advising on optical products and treatments. 
  

Qualifications: 

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program and an active optometry license in the state of California.
  
• Two or more years of optometry experience is preferred but not necessary.
  
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with a diverse range of patients.
  

​Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  
• Proficiency with general computer tasks and ability to manage patient records.
  
• Experience in high-end sales and a keen interest in fashion and eyewear trends.
