Los Gatos and San Jose Burglary

12/31/2010

Comments

Two local offices, one in Los Gatos, and one in San Jose, were burglarized after hours on Wed., Dec. 1.

Both offices were broken in through their back entrances.  The San Jose office on Story road had both an alarm system and surveillance system, and apparently these burglars knew how to short circuit the exterior siren  and fully disable the alarm.  The surveillance camera recorded two suspected males with masks and gloves.  They stole over 300 frames, a Woodland manual projector and Woodland manual lensometer as well.  The Los Gatos office had the majority of its frames stolen though no equipment was missing.  I have also just learned that a month ago, a Morgan Hill office was burglarized in which the assailants broke through the adjoining wall to a vacant retail unit.

Please be advised that a few of these offices were visited by what is believed to be the same 2-3 African-American females in their late twenties to early thirties.   While one asks numerous questions, the others are scoping out the establishment as well as trying to steal any frames possible.

There is no certainty as to whether the women are directly linked to these after-hours burglaries, but it is extremely suspicious.

Should you encounter these individuals, do not allow them to wander your office unattended.  More importantly, authorities have indicated that they need a license plate of the automobile these women are driving.

Please make sure your security system and surveillance systems are truly secure.  FYI - check with your Alarm Company regarding a Wi-Fi adaptor you can purchase that will by-pass any effort by the burglars to disable your telephone-based alarm system.  Lastly, don't forget to keep your office property insurance updated.
