Saturday OD in a VT / Concussion / Sports Vision / Myopia Control practice
Our thriving bay area family and pediatric practice, Rising Star Optometry, is seeking an OD with interest or experience in binocular vision, pediatrics, contact lenses and myopia control, sports vision, vision therapy, and concussion care. We are also a family practice performing adult comprehensive eye exams. We have a current need for Saturdays in both our San Rafael and San Francisco offices, with the possibility of adding additional days. Willing to train and mentor the right candidate. We are hiring a full-time warm and friendly Optician at HMB Optometry Family Eye Care in Half Moon Bay, CA. The Optician will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, frame styling, dispensing, verifying lenses before dispensing to patients, processing claims, frame inventory, repairs, adjustments, troubleshooting, and managing lab relationships. The Optician will need to collaborate with our 2 Optometrists and other front office staff to ensure the best options are provided for the patient. We pride ourselves on providing a warm customer experience to our range of patients on the coast. We are looking for someone interested in contributing to the relationship we have created with our patients who is passionate about contributing and growing the practice.

Job description We are looking for an Optometrist to perform eye tests and provide excellent eye care to our patients. Optometrist responsibilities include analyzing vision tests, identifying sight problems, and prescribing corrective lenses and eyeglasses. To be successful in this role, you should have attention to detail and be able to treat all kinds of patients with kindness and discretion, from young children to the elderly. Note that to be considered for this position, you need to be a licensed Optometrist. Ultimately, you will ensure the accurate diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and injuries. Responsibilities · Perform comprehensive eye and vision tests and contact lens fittings. · Diagnose defects of the eye, such as myopia, astigmatism, and glaucoma. · Provide personalized temporary and permanent solutions to sight issues based on each patient’s specific case and medical history. · Prescribe medications, eyeglasses and contact lenses. · Advise patients on proper eye care techniques. · Keep updated and accurate medical records for all patients. · Bill for services rendered. · Book next appointments in cases where re-examination is required. · Train patients on how to use and maintain their contact lenses. · Refer to ophthalmologists when patients need to undergo surgery or when medically indicated. · Train ophthalmic assistants. Requirements and skills · Work experience as an Optometrist. · In-depth understanding of eye conditions and vision defects. · Hands-on experience with eye examination tools, such as ophthalmoscope and tonometer. · The ability to explain medical terms simply and calmly. · Attention to detail. · Helpful and a great team player. · Interpret results of technical test (visual fields. OCT, etc). · Review labs and consult reports to coordinate care as needed. · Work up patients for an ophthalmologist. · Degree in Optometry. · Clinical experience working with an Ophthalmologist is a plus.
